Leaving our hotel in Brackely about 5 miles from Silverstone the weather overnight had shown signs of rain! But the closer to the track we got, the drier the roads were, and the track seemed dry. Our qualifier was 9.40am. Scuitineering all complete - time to get in the car for the qualifing session.

I pulled out of the garage and made my way down the pit, to find myself at the front of the queue - time to make the most of it. A couple of laps to warm the tyres, and get in the groove, for the 20 min session. The lap timer kept me in touch with just what I was doing, and that the pace needed to pick up if I was to beat my time from yesterday testing.

Group A boys seemed to be flying by, but I still kept on with my mission, and was eventually rewarded with a 1.08.98 on the lap timer! My best ever around this track. A couple of laps later the chequered flag was out.

My first qualifier in the BMW Kuhmo Championship - and I had qualified 4th in my class. Part 1 over, what does the race hold……
